I purchased a 'Trial Membership' for $3000 in 2019, then Covid hit. They refused... read more multiple attempts to extend the deadline, citing the contract end date stated two years. They ignored the fact that there was a world-wide pandemic that prohibited safe travel during those two years and effectively stole the money

Is this the kind of group anyone would want to do business with? I warn everyone against working with them! While they could have been accommodating, focused on customer service and gained a happy customer, they chose to put unearned money in their pocket. They bank on the fact that it will be difficult and expensive for an American to sue in a Mexican court to get their money back.

They use a 3rd party intermediary to handle all service calls - ResortCom. When you call you get a phone rep who will put in a request to the "owner" which is the Villa Group. You will never get a direct response from anyone at the Villa Group so don't be fooled into thinking your request goes to anyone who cares about you as a customer.

I suspect that any positive reviews you find about this group were posted by their own people. Pay attention to the negative reviews, because they are from real people like me who they don't want you to hear from.

They prey on Americans- don't give them your money, as you won't see it again!

A very large open veranda, where we had breakfast the first morning there. Resorts staff is so nice and really have a great attention to service. Towards the end of our trip my husband had a medical emergency, my children ages 22, 15, and 12 stayed behind while I accompanied him to the hospital. The resort reached out to me to comfort me and let me know that they could accommodate my children another day if needed. This very kind and compassionate gesture will forever hold a special place in my heart. My husband is OK thank God. But to know that someone could extend a hand to a stranger in a time of need, is such a warm gesture. Thank you so so much for all your attention Villa Estancia staff. We also opted for the all inclusive package- although it didn’t include alcohol the food was great. There is an endless amount of restaurants to choose from (across all three resorts) ranging from walk up and order to pool side service and more formal fancy sit downs. The restaurants I would definitely hit are: Neptunes seafood with a view) La Casona (steakhouse) Shrimp tacos by the pool were amazing (la Parilla poolside grill) and tacos at the Villa del Arco hotel were also great. There are some “premium” items on the menus not included for the all inclusive package but it wasn’t really a bother as there were many many options that were included! Additionally for the restaurants that did require reservations, they were easy to come by and often we called same day and they were able to accommodate. Highly recommend a trip to the spa at Villa del Arco next door- the facilities and services are amazing. We will definitely be coming back! The only minor complaint is that we did not know we’d be sharing our (expansive) patio with a studio room next door. If you have a large group this space would... Air conditioning didn’t work in either bedroom, which meant no privacy since doors had to be kept open to try to get airflow. After reviewing all of their rules, we found out you can’t have speakers of any kind, can’t sit in pool chairs until after 8am, couldn’t have a cooler anywhere but beach forcing you to buy their extremely overpriced drinks. We bought a food package and half the restaurants were absolutely terrible. They even charged us for things that were included in our package. Upon check out, I only received an invoice of total charged at each place. Upon check out, I only received an invoice of total charged at each place. When I requested an itemized receipt was told it was against the rules and they don’t do that and that’s why they tell you to keep your receipts (cause I totally have a dry spot in my bathing suit to do that). No where in the ridiculous rules does it include a statement of having to keep your receipts. Which if someone spouts off a random room number or mistakes are made, the customer has no way to verify charges. I asked to speak with manager and was told that she did not come in until over an hour after we had to leave. Employee assured me she would email it to me, and an email has never been received.

Beware, they very well could be stealing money from you, but no way to tell because they don’t have the integrity to provide detailed invoices of charges. More
