The resort does not enforce the one hour chair reservation policy and the hoarding was wildly evident. That said, I could find a place in the shade without much trouble if I didn't need to be poolside. The check in process was interminable, like buying a house. The ugly: You share your balcony with complete strangers. Imagine waking up and throwing open the curtains in your bedroom to be face to face with strangers. Or thinking you will go out and have some breakfast or drinks and there are people sitting at the outdoor table. Also the sliding door to the living room didn't lock. We got lucky and the people in the studio who shared the balconyy were a lovely couple and very considerate, however, it is the luck of the draw. We could easily have had the group of 4 young women who frequented the bar pool and whooped it up daily. Or a family with young children as I understand happened to a honey moon couple. According to the woman in the lobby in all the units have shared balconies. Hmmm, we didn't, last time we were there but we apparently rented one of the only studios with a private balcony from an owner. This time we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom and it was gorgeous but shared a large balcony with the studio B unit. Really?? I like to have breakfast in my P J's on the balcony and an evening drink in the same. Not happening here.
The manager, check in person seemed indifferent when I brought it up and simply said, they are all shared unless you book them both. Well that's a lot more room than a couple needs and a lot more money. If the management cannot figure out a simple divider installation at a minimum they should INFORM people that they will be sharing a balcony when they book and let them make their decision.
It is a shame, a gorgeous resort but we won't be back. More
